Trained as a social science researcher, I came to the nonprofit sector as a grant writer in 2011. Since then, I’ve worked with organizations across the Northern California Bay Area, honing my skills in nonprofit strategy, fundraising, evaluation, and storytelling to grow agency budgets, build capacity, and boost operational effectiveness. Over the past 14 years, I’ve helped agencies raise a total of over $25 million to fund their transformative missions. I’m deeply curious about what drives human experience, and committed to social justice. Originally from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, I’ve lived on three continents and now reside in California wine country with my husband and two sons. I hold a BA in Human Development from the University of Chicago, a PhD in Medical Anthropology from the University of California, San Diego, and a certificate in nonprofit management from the University of the Pacific.
